Rest: Sabbath

The first post of Sabbath is resting in who God is.  We are to go to God for our needs when we are weary and also thank God for who he is in our life and what he has done for us.
Verses:  Matt 11:28-30 and Psalm 92.
Matthew 11:28-30 calls us to come all who are weary and tired and cast our concerns on God.  For God's burdens light but when we come to him he will fill our soul.  When we go to God with our concerns he gives us peace and trust in him.  Sabbath is designed to rest in who God is realizing that we can go to him for our concerns.  God already knows what we need before when even go to him with our concerns.
Psalm 92 describes God's goodness and thanks him for who is in our life.  In order to rest in God, I feel we need to have a sense of God's goodness to us and what he has done in our life.  Also, it is important to remember how he has molded us into his image.
Why we rest:  Resting in God, takes away our worries and concerns of this world.  Resting in God gives us the reminder of just how great our God is.
Application: When we rest in God, we are able to have a peace and trust about the future.  Go to God with your stress of school and of the future.  Remind yourself God is in control of every situation and his goodness to you.
