A Paul like movement in my life

There was a type of Paul like movement in my life after college.   God led me from what I wanted to do in my life after college to where he wanted me in life.  At first when I attended TCU, I wanted to go into the sports Journalism field.  After college,  God closed down the door for the sports Broadcast Journalism jobs and showed me that he was calling me into ministry.  God used seminary to mold me into who he wanted me to be as a person and he showed me his plan for my life is to use me for his glory.
God will lead me to a ministry job in his timing.  He is calling me to wait on him and his leading me in my life.  God is in control and his is trustworthy.  Philippians 1:6, says "God will continue to use us until the day of Christ Jesus."  This reminds me that God will still move through me and use me, I just have to be patient for the right job.
God is the same as he was yesterday as he is today.  That is true because he moved through me before in leading me from my desires for my life to what he is calling me to.  God is leading me, I just have to trust in his perfect plans for my life.

Ephesians 3:20

God has been revealing to that he will use me in abundant power in his timing.  He has been moving through me in teaching in the Travis Avenue Pre-teen ministry.  He has been using me in teaching these kids.  Also, I am having more interest in various churches and camps for Full-time jobs.  God is reminding me he will use me for his glory with his Holy Spirit and his power in his timing.  Philippians 1:6, says "God will continue working in you until the day of Christ Jesus." I will expand more on this post next week.

Trust him

God has been reminding me of how much we need to trust in his plans for our life.  God has a plan for our life we just have to trust him in the waiting periods.  Romans 12:2 says, "his will his good, pleasing, and perfect." It says in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all of your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."  When we trust him, he will lead us where he wants us to go in life.  Leaning on God's understanding involves seeking God for direction in life and he will guide us where he wants us.  Lastly, God has been reminding me that when I acknowledge him in all things, he will lead me to the right job situation for me.

God's love

God has been reminding me through our study of the Pslams in Sunday school in the Children's Ministry that his love is more than enough for me.  He is all I need and want in life.  His love can get us through any trial or struggle in life.  His love endures forever and stretches from the heavens to the earth.  There no height, depth, that can ever reach his love.  Romans 8:39 says that nothing can ever separate his from his love; neither height, nor depth, nor anything in all creation can separate his from love and power.

Peace about the future

God is given me the peace to trust him with the future.  God has shown me that I need to trust him and he will give me peace and trust in him.  God showed me he will give me his peace and lead me where he wants me to go.

Idols in life

Through the Jeremiah message God reminded of the former idols I have placed in my life.  I used to put sports and worldly things as idols.  Sometimes, those things are still idols at times but now I am able to put Christ at the center and not focus on those things are my source of joy and inspiration.  Another idol in my life that has popped up over the past few years was marriage and before that girls. I put them on a pedestal too high and have focused on these idols that can and will consume you.
The first main idol was sports were my idol and only desire early in life before I became a believer.  That is the only thing I really cared about.  Early in high school and pre-teen years I wanted me be a star basketball player.  That did not happen early in my high school years as I was cut from the basketball team.  God had other plans for my life.  I gave my life to Jesus Christ at the end of the summer of my Sophomore year of High School.
The other main idol in my  life was girls and marriage.  I put girls on a pedestal before anything and everything in my life.  I feel into the trap of lust and it's effects for a short time.  Also, I had become obsessed with marriage and not very content.  God has been teaching me to be more content in him and rest in him.
It is important we daily destroy the idols in our life. That was what Jeremiah preached against and God's calling on his life.  We have to destroy all idols that are pulling us away from God.

Hebrews and the promises the book gives

The study we have been doing on Hebrews has reminded me to lean into Christ in all times of my life.  Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith.  It has reminded me that Jesus paid for it all and he will do all he can to give us what we need in his timing.  God knows our hearts and is always working in our lives even in times when we cannot see it or understand it.  Jesus gives us to strength to pull away from sin.  Also, the HS encourages us when we need it.  God builds us up in good times and bad through the fellowship of others.

Gifts

God has been teaching me that if we use our gifts he will provide for us.  We have to lean into our gifts in building up his kingdom.  When we trust him in him using us through his power then he will use us for his glory in his timing.  God has a way of working things out when we trust him in his provisions in our life.  God knows what we need if we just use these gifts and passion then he will lead us where he wants us to go.

Ephesians 3:20

Lately, God has bee n teaching me Ephesians 3:20.  He has been reminding me that he is going to do great things through me even more abundantly than ask or imagine.  Also, God has been revealing to me if I ask his Holy Spirit for guidance he will lead me in teaching his Word and various ministry endeavors.
The first I have taken with me as I grew as a teacher of God's Word.  I developed as a teacher of his Word at Christ Chapel Bible church in small groups.  Also at Travis Avenue Baptist church, Matt Geddie has helped me become a better teacher of his Word.  Through this God has been reminding me of what my gifts are.  He has been saying to trust him that he will use them for his glory.  Paul talked about in 1 Corinthians 12 my grace is sufficient in your weakness
Lastly, the main point God has been making us that I will use you in my timing not yours.  God has a bigger plan for my life and he wants me to trust him.  God knows my gifts and abilities.  He will use them when he deems so.  Jeremiah 31:11 is a great reminder of this as well.
So, if you read this remember God can and will use you today in mighty ways; Ephesians 3:20.  God has a will and purpose for your life.  We just have to trust him in his timing.

Time, Death, Love quotes from Collateral Beauty

Time-They say you heal all wounds. You turn beauty into ash.  You don't understand time. Nobody understands time. Time is just an illusion.  You just give time, and you just waste it.  I don't want your prison sentence because you took her's.  Time is timeless, it is forever. Time finally catches up to us. Some think time is linear and others think it is an illusion. You wrote me because you need me. I'm gifting you and you're wasting it. Another thing, we question time's importance in life and the necessity of time.   We question the point of time and it's significance in life.
Death- Why are you here? We question why death is here? What's the point of life?  It all basically says your a natural part of life. Death gives time all of it's value. We question the aspects of death eternally and naturally. It all basically says you are a natural part of life.    Howard claims it's all intellectual stuff because she is not here.
Love- We don't get to choose who we love.  I'm in the power of everything. Howard you need to accept that so you can live again.  I did trust you and you betrayed me.  I'm the darkness, I'm the light, I'm the sunshine, and the rain.  I'm the reason for your pain.Love is the reason for everything. Love can be everything from happy to sad. Love is everywhere.   Just make sure you notice the Collateral Beauty........

Christ is Risen

Jesus' resurrection helps us see that he gives the ability to overcome our struggles in life because of what Christ overcame on the cross.  His resurrection gives the victory over sin.  He also gives us the hope we have in him and in our future eternal life in him.  Jesus uses suffering in our life to bring us closer to him and help bring us to become his disciples.

God's blessings and his work in my life

On my 30th birthday, God reminded of his blessings in my life and how he has worked in my life the past couple years.  He reminded that he is faithful and will be faithful to me in my future because of how he has worked in my past.  God showed me that he is trustworthy and worthy of all our praise.
A few weeks ago, God provided me with another job.  The job will allow me to work in the morning and early afternoon at that job then in mid afternoon at my other one.  The new job he gave me was more pay even though the hours are early in the morning. The employees are really nice and the manager for the new job is a really good guy.  The new job keeps me on my feet more the other job I currently have.
God also reminded of how he used me in HSM at Christ Chapel the past three to four years.  He showed me that he grew my ability to teach his Word and disciple others.  Also, he showed me the amount of impact I had on the students in our small group and in the ministry.  I received three to four messages on my phone and online from my small group guys.  It was really encouraging day and week for me.
Lastly, God showed me how he will provide for me in the future.  He reminded me of what he has already done in the past.  God revealed to me opportunities to serve at Travis Avenue and showed me he will provide me in a ministry job.  God has been showing me I need to daily trust him for his provisions for a full time job at a church and a godly woman he has called me to marry. He will provide for me in his timing.

New job

In this post I want to praise God for providing me with a new job.  This job pays more than my older one at Krogers and I get to be on my feet more.  Also, there is more stuff to do at this new job.  I thank the Lord for providing me this new job at the Einstein's/Noah's bagels company.   I think it will be a great fit for me.  They will provide me a lot more hours than Krogers once I work there a few weeks.
Also, my boss and employees are really nice.  It seems like a great atmosphere every day.  It gets really busy but everyone gets along well with each others.  I like the work environment a lot.  The employees are always helping me find things to do after I finish the cleaning.
Lastly, at Einstein's I am affirmed and appreciated.  An employee always says good job doing this or that.  I never get any sort of affirmation or appreciation at my other job.  Einstein's just seems like a great place to work until a ministry job opens up.

Philippians 1:6

One thing God has been teaching me is that he has been reminding how much he has used me the past three to four years and how much he will use me in the future.   God used me in teaching students God's Word during my time at Christ Chapel Bible church.  Also, God reminded me of my call to ministry and how he has used me in the past in various ministries.
In this post I will detail how God used me at Christ Chapel in the Student Ministry and I'm excited for what he will do through me in the future.  God used me during my time at Christ Chapel in teaching God's Word and growing me breaking down what he had to say to me.  He also used me to disciple students.  The small group has a whole grew in their relationship with Jesus Christ.  God showed me that he was glorified in how he used in during my time serving at the church.
Lastly, God showed me that he will use me in the future in a ministry job.   God has been using Philippians to show me specific things about growth and maturity in Christ.  I have to be content in him and he will provide for me in his timing. Also, if we fix our eyes on Jesus as the goal of our life he will lead us where he wants to go.  His plans are greater than our plans and his timing is greater than our timing.

D-focus

This past week one of my mentors and close friends died.  He created the Discipleship Focus program I went through the summer after I graduated from college.  The program showed me how to daily abide in Jesus Christ.
Will Wyatt daily lived out a life that was abiding in Jesus Christ.  He was always teaching and pointing us how to abide in Jesus Christ.   He emphasized how important it is to present our situations to God for him to conform them to his image.  He also said we should be desperately dependent on Jesus for everything in our life.  Also, he showed me how God is in control of everything in our life.  The Discipleship Focus study changed the way I look at things in life.  It showed me how depend on God in good or bad situations in life.  The study showed me that I need to remind myself who I am in Christ despite whatever the situation I may face.  Also, it gave me a clear perspective on how to live life for Jesus Christ.
Will lived every day as he was looking forward to his graduation day.  He referred to this day as the day he would go to be with Jesus. He lived every day in anticipation of this day.  That is how we should be living every day as Christians.  The day he died was probably the happiest day of his life because he could see his savior Jesus Christ.

Shaken

I have just finished reading Tim Tebow's book "Shaken" that describes going through times of peaks and valleys when life is hard.  He discusses not being shaken when these things come our way.  He illustrates this by certain stories in the book from people that did not limit themselves when they had hardship and struggles.
In summary, the book gives you an overview of how to approach life when hardship is thrown your way.  He gives different approaches throughout the book and shows us how to live for Christ through these struggles.  The main he describes is to remind ourselves our identity is in Christ and nothing else.  That is the main idea that he illustrates throughout the book.  Tim helps us trust that when when know that our identity is in Christ he will provide for us in these struggles.
Also, in the book he gives great examples of these circumstances in the book.  He uses these examples to show how these people did not let their circumstances define them. They lived for Christ despite their struggles and what they were going through at the time.  Tim helps any every day person can relate to these stories.  He makes the book applicable to anyone that reads it.
In my analysis, the book is great for anyone that is going through struggles whatever it may be.  He applies these struggles to those that he went through trying to make it in the NFL.  He uses this comparison to describe how he went through struggles himself to get where he is today.  Tim uses these examples of his struggles to show God can use these struggles to bring out a greater good.  God had a purpose in all of his struggles of when he tried to follow his dream of playing in the NFL.
The book's main them or perspective is focusing on our identity in Christ above all else.  Tim emphasizes this throughout the book,  That is what he wants the readers to take away from at the end. It's a perspective that we should apply to all of our life.  He helps us make sure it's important in our lives when we go through these times.
The last main perspective he discussed was to not limit yourself when you have specific struggles or limitations.  He then gives examples of people that did not let their disabilities get to them.   These people still did great things for God despite what they were going through at the time.
In essence, Tim clearly explains throughout the book that we do not need to be "shaken" when these storms in our life come our way.  He uses Psalm 16:8, to reference the title in how we should live our life in these times.  It says, "I have set the Lord continually before me, because he is at my right hand. I will not be shaken." We have to trust in our identity in Christ when these storms come our way and not be shaken because God is with us.  God can use us when we trust in his power and glory in good times and bad.
I would personally recommend this book to any Christian that is struggling with any life situation.  The book is a great reminder who God is and who we are in Christ.  We have to trust he is for us and our identity is in him.
